Building process:Inspiration:Final piece:Reflection:This piece had some big learning experiences even though it didn’t take to long to make. I hadn’t messed with the wheel in a long time so when getting on to it I had to remember everything from centering to form. The most difficult part for me was when I wanted to make themelted look for two reasons. For one thing I had wanted to take something like fire to make it actually melt but I didn’t have the capability to test to see if it would melt it or just dry it. I then ended up cutting it out and forming the melted part with slip. I think after looking at the inspiration piece it helped me accomplish the look. The only other problem I faced was when it broke into two. This piece let me realize I do like working on the wheel and I hope that before the end of the year I can do a couple more pieces on the wheel. I have also learned to think more about the layering of the glazes so the yellow could have popped more. So next time I do a piece that has a design painted on it I will have more layers of color on the top most one. This piece was very enjoyable and I hope to create more piece similar both on wheel and for the melting aspect.
