Most successful:I picked this piece as my most successful piece because even though I struggled making it the form of the deer is actually close to a real one. I learned a lot from this piece. I learned you could make a design out of paper that is three dimensional that also has texture. I learned you can cut many shapes to make many layers that can get smaller or bigger. I also learned I can use minimal colors if it goes with what I want for the look of the piece. Biggest Failure:I think was my least successful piece because it didn’t seem to come out the way I wanted it. I don’t think this piece was that bad but are things I would change. The form for example is something I learned from this piece on. I learned that you need to make sure cut the pieces evenly on both sides to keep a balance. I also learned I didn’t just have to use paper or clay to make a 3-D piece. I also learned you don’t have to cover everything with color. I do really enjoy color though. i think this is also a failure because I couldn’t make the person stand up. I learned that I need to try to work with wire more and I know that it is something that I struggle with creating stuff from. I also learned that if I did something like this again that I should think about spacing to make it stand up. More! Inspiration:Planning process:Building process:Final design:Reflection:My main goal was to have my main subject being the fist coming up of the book. The theme of my piece was telling a bit about my life. This was showen through having the flower because I like nature, having the book because I love to read and write and the fist to represent strength in which I believe I have with everything I have gone through. The main media I wanted to use was clay and the colored pencils. I had wanted to challenge myself with the media by using two new mediums I hadn’t before. I had never cut colored pencils before to create a form and I never used a book in my art work. My element of focus was the texture and color. A principle of design I wanted to focus on would be the emphasis on the hand and flower. I had accomplished all my goals but I do have somethings I wished I did differently. The things I wish I did differently would be actually putting the text of book around the arm so it would have looked like it was actually growing from the book. I also should have made sure to balance the hand before getting it fired so I wouldn’t have had to put a piece of wood on it since it defeats my purpose of having the art piece being seen from all around and looking nice even though it keeps it stable. I have definitely been able to pull out some things from doing this piece that if I were to use any of the mediums again I know what I would do differently. An example would be that I would like to next time evenly cut the colored pencils.
Planning Process:Building Process:Outcome:Reflection:My main goal was to have the main subject being the brain and the little clouds to represent memories. The theme of my piece was to tell my memories and that people have memories. The main media I had wanted to use was balsa foam. I had wanted to challenge myself with this medium by trying to make the form of a brain and not just a simple cut. An example would be a rectangle with no 3-D purpose. My element of focus is would be the texture of the brain and color from the photography. A principle of design I wanted to focus on was contrast from the brain to the pictures. There was somethings out of this project that if I worked with foam again I would do differently. I would for one thing try to get more circular form that a brain would have. I wish I would have worked quicker on the brain so instead of photos I could have experimented with polymer clay to see if I could have had a different look with more detail. I think I would have maybe put the clay on the side and made it a little different to show they were memories. I think one plus was adding the white board at the bottom because then it would have a better stance when being placed down.
Planning Process:Building Process:Outcome:Reflection:My main goal was to have my main subject being the Cinderella castle. The theme of my piece was telling the cinderella story with the idea that it was my favorite movie when I was younger. the main media I wanted to use was sculptamold. I had wanted to challenge myself with the media by doing a bigger piece with a lot of textural details. My element of focus was the texture and color. A principle of design I wanted to focus on would be the emphasis on the castle. I had accomplished all my goals but I do have somethings I wished I did differently. The things I wish I did differently would be the blue glitter going all over the part of the tower because some of it isn't covered so the sculptamold shows through. I also would have wanted to have a more tan under the gold glitter because it would have been more accurate to the design I was going for. I believe though that all the other ideas and things I did were a plus in the outcome.
